HUB announcement mailing list
To register for emails about future HUB events, just send an empty mail to: email@example.com; the address that gets added to the list is the one in the “from” field of this empty mail.
This list is moderated i.e. you can write to firstname.lastname@example.org, but your mail won’t be sent to the list until one of the moderators approves it.
To unsubscribe, just send an empty mail to email@example.com, with the email address you want to remove from the list in the “from” field of your email.
This list is relatively low-volume, most mails are announcements for future meetings. It’s also how we will contact you if there are any last minute changes to a meeting (e.g. that it’s canceled). So if you plan to participate in meetings, it’s probably a good idea that you sign up for the list.
We also announce events/meetings etc. via the HUB LinkedIn group. This can also be useful for keeping in touch with other HUB participants once they’ve left the area
The HUB Twitter handle is @HUBioinformatic.
To refer to the meetings we use the hashtag #hub_hub
We believe it is very important that people contributing to HUB activities are acknowledged for their work.
Currently, this focuses on crediting those of the community involved in organising the meetings.
We do this in two ways:
- anyone involved in organising a meeting should edit this list of once and current HUB organisers to add their name to the list.
- Secondly, the co-ordinators of individual meetings are encouraged to add their name to an “organisers” section of the page for that HUB.
Anyone interested in organising future HUB meetings is welcome to join the HUB Organisers mailing list by writing to firstname.lastname@example.org, or by approaching other organisers in person or by email.
They will then be added to the list by a HUB webserver admin (currently Matt, Holger, Aidan). When adding people to the list please remember to introduce them to the list by sending a mail to it.
Please use this list for constructive discussion of topics related to Unseminars in Bioinformatics. Consistent disregard for these guidelines, as judged by the list administrators, may lead to removal from the list.
