HUB27 – Storytelling in Science FULLY BOOKED

June 9 from 19:30 - 21:00

HUB26HUB27 IS NOW FULLY BOOKED – THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Storytelling in science: A workshop at Heidelberg Forum for Young Life Scientists 2017

The human brain loves storytelling, and weaving narrative into the way we talk about our science can help people to form an emotional connection and potentially perk their interest in our work. This approach, while certainly useful for communicating science to the general public, is useful in many other areas, from shaping research strategies, writing grant applications, or wow-ing an audience of peers. In this unseminar, we will work together to empower skills of storytelling, combining strong narratives with a real overview of your science and also having a lot of fun along the way.

Please let us know if you intend to come along.

  • Warm up exercise – Led by Iman Meziane, German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ)
  • Workshop: Building analogies of your work – Led by Eva-Maria Gottmann, EIT Health
  • Inspiring science slam flashtalks: Laura Howes, European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Lorenz Adlung, German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ), and Lucas Czech, Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS)
